As fashion week commences what better way than to have FLASH report on all the gossip. With reports backstage and fashionista secrets we want to bring you the most exclusive take on fashion week there could be. It took a moment to warm up to the guests rocking stilettos at Newcastle and, well, to accept that summer was well and truly over. For a solid month it’s going to be a churning blur of skinny model legs, thousands of them, flawless complexions and sexy smiles but we frankly couldn't wait to share the most anticipated fashion show there is.
Quayside are well known in the fashion industry for designing Cheryl Coles wedding dress and seen as here in Newcastle we love Chez we decided to head backstage here first.
8.07: The stylists and makeup artists arrived and we caught up with them to spill all the hottest trends.
Bright Lips and luminous nail art powered the runway whilst the occasional body art was spotted, With brights being the favourite for A/W every fashion focused individual needs to invest. Not only did we see brights here at Newcastle fashion week but celebs are wearing brights everywhere.
We all know the Sage are bang on trend with there luxury dresses and so we couldn't wait to see their new collection hit the runway. Our favourite was definitely the elegant white dress with a pink belt. The Sage put the outfit together in a way where the colours are simple but complement each other. The bright red lips were a key statement for the winter and we can see these hitting everywhere. Temporarily shelve your minis in favour of something a little flirtier. These frocks are a must.
Consent Slip
Because my billboard features at least 3 models I have created a consent slip that my models can agree to before taking part in the photoshoot or being displayed around the world.

generic conventions
when creating pieces of media the producer will often plan what it will look like and posssibly compare it to another well known advert.
Generic conventions include points which we would pair with a billboard such as having the brands name featured somewhere on the advert, catch tag lines as well as close up shots.
My billboard is to show my magazine off to get the audience to buy it. By featuring young women on my billboard looking happy and engaged in the magazine will show the audience the magazine is intresting encouraging the audience to buy the magazine. Showing the model to be happy and look sexy is often a feature in an advert as we never really see an unhappy model because people wouldnt be intrested in buying it or reading it. I will include this generic convention in my billboard but instead of having close up shots like many billboard are seen to have I will change it to having a full body shot of the model so we can see the models body language whilst they are reading the magazine. Problems with doing this could occur as it may not look like a billboard advert and may be better with a close up image so I will test out images before deciding on the final look. The colours used I may go against typical convections and use a variety of colours. Most magazines stick to using 2 or 3 but with my magazine aged at 16+ bright colours will suit my target audience.

Billboard - Inspirational Texts

My second billboard which I really liked was the makeup advertisment by Chanel advertising their new lipstick. What attracted me to this billboard as an audience member was the use of colour. They use only 2 main colours of peach and white and it stops the billboard getting to cramped. When comparing it to my other billboard research that also uses a minimum amount of colours as the blue and white.
Another thing about this advert which I really liked was the image of the model wearing the lipstick and then the image of the lipstick next to it. It shows the audience straight to the point of what is being advertised. Something I disliked about this advert was the difference in font from the rouge and the coco which may confuse some of the readers. I think the font would be better if it was consistent and the same.
This advert is typically aimed at women as is my advert .
This is another of my favourite billboards that stood out to me. I love that the billboard features a link to the website of " AlexanderMcqueen.com" and It features the website and not just the name Alexander Mcqueen. The image is an arial shot and I love the effect of this on the billboard. I also like the unusual of the model covered in snakes which is different to what other billboards will have. Its something that will make the public remember the billboard if theres something unusual to make them remember it. The font is in small letters which I would possibly make bigger just so its easily visible for passer buys. With technology growing I also thing that in order to improve the billboard they could add a QR code on the billboard so if the advertisement was featured in magazines or walls then viewers could easily find the website .The use of colour could distract a few of the audiences so maybe the advert could use less colours.
